Described as ‘Shark Tank’ meets ‘The Apprentice,’ ‘The Marijuana Show’ is the Internet’s first marijuana-themed reality show. It will follow pot entrepreneurs looking for financial backing for their various marijuana-themed money-making ideas (like Shark Tank); however, like The Apprentice, there will be challenges that will, in the end, make them better entrepreneurs (or ganjapreners).
This show fits a niche in the market because the (legal) marijuana industry is such a new concept that there is little or no foundation for all these new cannabis-based industries to build upon. Moreover, it is hard for those trying to break into the marijuana business to find funding for their businesses.
The low budget (roughly $5,000/episode) show will provide an entertaining look at (possibly) the future of marijuana culture. The show has proven a hit. During the first season, one entrepreneur, Jeffrey Peterson, received funding for a marijuana-themed comic series–$25,000 for a 10% stake in the business. Moreover, a second season has begun filming.
